For our UK&I Sales Organization, we are looking for a Business Development Manager - Commercial Buildings Electrical Infrastructure for the London area. The UK&I Sales Organization works in conjunction with the product Business Units to sell products & services to a wide variety of customers. Eaton has rapidly evolved into an intelligent power management company as our part to Energy Transition and Net Zero gathers pace. In Eaton Electrical Sector, products & services include systems that form total energy solutions including EV charging, Energy Storage, software, power distribution, industrial controls and power quality as well as life safety systems in Emergency Lighting, Fire and Security.
Within our UK&I Sales Organization, the Business Development Manager - Commercial Building Electrical Infrastructure will develop and secure a profitable, sustainable pipeline of business primarily focused on Low Voltage solutions (e.g. transformers, switchboards, final distribution equipment) in the commercial buildings arena, whilst contributing to the growth of Eaton's wider portfolio in power quality and building safety (Emergency Lighting).
In this role, you will be working closely with peers in Ireland and UK including business units, marketing teams and the commercial back office acquiring share through integrated business development activities. The scope of target customers includes: End Users, Consultants & Contractors. The role is available in a remote structure, but geographically central in county i.e. South East England/Greater London Area, with a business travel rate up to 75% of the working time.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a sustainable, profitable pipeline in line with Eaton annual/quarterly targets
- Deliver relevant levels of sales activity with customers in line with targets through face to face or digital engagement
- Own sales drive and efficiency: Seek and adopt digital tools to achieve efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive activities with target customers (End Users, Consultants and contractors)
- Energy transition: Grow width of wallet by helping to identify opportunities for Eaton's EV charging and Energy storage solutions
- Energy Systems and Solutions: work with business units to execute key strategic projects which fit our commercial buildings strategy in the UK
- Market understanding: understand the competitive landscape, key customer needs, contribute to new offer creation and launch processes
- Marketing: Close working relationships with the UK and Ireland marketing team to drive strategic plans for new customer acquisition, retention and growth
- CRM analytics: Work with line manager and colleagues to analyze and drive insight on activity rates, pipeline build, and conversion rates in order to achieve targets
- Ethics: ensure the highest level of Ethical behaviour and safety standards are implemented and aligned with Eaton's Culture
Qualifications:
- Degree of Higher Education is required
- Experienced in working in a B2B environment, working with specifiers in construction or technology
- Sales planning and execution, experience of adoption of CRM (preferably Salesforce) and use of Power BI are essential for the role
- Understanding of UK construction sector, commercial building electrical infrastructure, competitive landscape, power distribution solutions is preferred
- Naturally inquisitive and adaptable and open to new ways of operating
- Open to embrace change, laying out a compelling vision of the future; focused on building strong (internal & external) customer relationships and anticipate/deliver customer centric solutions, keen on consistently achieving results even under adverse conditions
