The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team, actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.

We are looking for a friendly, experienced, dynamic and self‐motivated Health Care Assistant to join the multidisciplinary team helping to develop and deliver a high‐class infusion service at the Centralised Infusions Unit, Mile End Hospital. This is a part‐time position. The successful applicant will work 30 hours per week across four days.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and compassionate outpatient care as part of the infusion service under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Administer intravenous infusion therapy to patients with a range of long‐term and short‐term health conditions.
  • Carry out phlebotomy and basic administrative tasks as required.
  • Support the training and competency development of new staff within the unit.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Friendly, dynamic and self‐motivated Healthcare Assistant – experience as a Healthcare Support Worker or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills; preferably with administrative and phlebotomy experience.
  • Willing to work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Successful completion of an online literacy and numeracy test.
