Responsibilities
- Provide autonomous specialist, holistic patient‑centred care and harm‑reducing clinical and management solutions to achieve skin integrity, optimal wound healing and preservation of tissue health.
- Provide specialist, expert advice and education to support clinical teams in delivering safe and compassionate care, reducing harm and improving patient experience.
- Assist in Trust-wide pressure‑ulcer reduction campaigns, working with the Tissue Viability Hospital Service Lead and site Directors of Nursing to sustain and embed improvements.
- Provide expert advice on Tissue Viability‑related resources, equipment and products required for safe and effective care across Barts Health.
- Develop, review, and evaluate Trust-wide Tissue Viability policies, protocols, and guidelines and adapt regional and national guidelines for local use.
- Apply vision, innovation and cross‑professional collaboration to support complex wound care as part of maternity leave coverage; work autonomously and provide specialist support to clinical teams, patients and caregivers; collaborate with Diabetes, Vascular, Podiatry and Wound Care specialists to improve patient safety and share best practices.
Working Hours
The service operates Monday‑Friday, 9‑5 pm. The role is a maternity leave cover and offers flexible working in line with NHS policies.
