So while we are improving, you can too – within a professionally challenging yet exciting environment. Are you interested in joining a friendly supportive team with the Renal Department? We are looking for a Ward Administrator who is enthusiastic and a well-motivated person in this busy unit.

You will possess excellent personal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work on own initiative, as well as part of a team. You will be able to prioritise your workload taking into consideration the needs of the dialysis unit and show an understanding of the need for patient confidentiality.

Previous administration experience within an NHS role or equivalent is essential.

Main duties of the job

To provide professional clerical and administrative support to Barts Health Dialysis units. Promoting at all times the interests of patients and service ensuring its reputation for delivery of a quality service is maintained.

ØProviding administrative support to unit clinicians

ØBooking and siting dialysis clinics

ØProviding reception service to the units

ØLiaison with other trust services e.g. Hospital transport and Health Advocacy Service

ØLiaison with patients to assistant with any queries or request they may have

ØAssisting in prompt, accurate recoding of clinical data on unit

ØRequesting of monthly blood labels and make sure they are available to nursing team.

ØAnswering the phones calls to the unit & the electronic door systems

ØOrdering of stationary and equipment as request

ØAny other administrative requirements of the units

Qualifications

  • GCSE A Level or equivalent standard of education
  • Literate and Numerate.
  • ECDL or equivalent experience i.e. experience of a range of IT packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years administration experience within a NHS role or equivalent
  • Competence with a range of IT packages – CRS, Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Able to present a positive image of her/himself and the service
