We are looking for a dynamic individual with the drive and enthusiasm to achieve service development and transformation, as we strive to provide outstanding, cutting-edge care to women of East London and beyond.

Main duties of the job
Teaching, training & supervision
The post holder will be expected to contribute to undergraduate teaching, teaching of junior medical and midwifery staff. Experience in teaching and training within fetal monitoring and obstetric skills and drills is required. The post holder will also take an active role in clinical and academic training and supervision of clinical fellows and core trainees within the department. Participation in multidisciplinary meetings within the Women’s Health Department is expected.
Leadership
We seek dynamic individuals with the drive to achieve service development and transformation, striving to provide outstanding, cutting-edge care to all women. The successful candidates will contribute both clinically and operationally to this goal. They will contribute to the obstetrics on-call rota, covering labour ward during on-call periods.

Person specification
Education
- Full GMC registration
- Relevant CCT or equivalent (confirmation required by PMETB/GMC by the advisory appointments committee)
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months
Experience
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCT in relevant specialty
- Experience in clinical governance
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for patient care
- Experience in complaints handling, serious incident investigations, and service development
Skills
- Ability to manage complex obstetric problems
- Quality improvement training and experience
