Fetal Wellbeing Midwife (Band 7) – part‑time, fixed‑term – who provides expert clinical leadership in fetal wellbeing and fetal monitoring, supporting safe, evidence‑based and equitable care for women and birthing people.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with midwifery, obstetric, neonatal, governance and education teams to strengthen CTG interpretation, promote timely escalation and enhance learning from incidents.
- Provide expert clinical input for CTG interpretation and fetal wellbeing assessment across intrapartum areas, acting as a senior point of escalation for complex or concerning CTG patterns and ensuring timely multidisciplinary review and decision‑making.
- Support the ongoing implementation of Trust fetal monitoring standards, including the Royal London hourly CTG assessment process and “fresh eyes” reviews.
- Promote physiological interpretation of CTGs alongside NICE categorisation.
