An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Pain Management Service at Barts Health. You will work with the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Anaesthetic Consultants to deliver inpatient and outpatient Pain Services at the Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals. You will be part of a team of highly experienced specialist nurses and doctors providing high‑quality, evidence‑based acute and chronic pain management services that our patients deserve.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the day‑to‑day operational delivery of the Pain Management Service and take responsibility for an agreed nurse‑led caseload, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
- Implement and evaluate pain‑management initiatives, facilitate the provision of a seamless service, and promote quality, evidence‑based care in accordance with local and Trust policies.
- Develop and participate in audit, research and educational activities related to pain management to facilitate learning and improve clinical service delivery.
- Ensure effective communication throughout the Trust, building working relationships with other members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate best practice in the management of patients in acute and/or chronic pain.
- Demonstrate time‑management and organisational skills to deliver a flexible service that responds appropriately to unpredictable and challenging needs.
- Adapt to flexible working hours as required to meet the service demands.

Training and Development
- Opportunity to further develop specialist knowledge and skills in providing health care to inpatient and outpatient patients referred to the Pain Management Service, including areas such as general surgery, orthopaedics, major trauma, complex hepatobiliary surgery, cardiothoracics, renal transplant and neurosurgery.
