Barts Health NHS Trust (St Bartholomew’s Hospital) is actively enhancing its research capabilities and participating in various projects and clinical trials. The Cardiovascular Clinical Academic Group welcomes applications for a Clinical Research Fellow (ST4 equivalent) in Critical Care Medicine. This opportunity is perfect for trainees or holders of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) who seek additional experience in critical care research prior to assuming a consultant role. Experience in echocardiography and research training is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in advancing the department's research initiatives and contribute to ongoing research studies.
  • Screen, consent, and recruit patients for ongoing research studies.
  • Perform echocardiograms and renal ultrasound scans on recruited patients.
  • Maintain all paperwork required by regulatory authorities.
  • Analyse resultant data and present findings at local, national, and international meetings.
  • Lead manuscript preparations for research outcomes.
  • Contribute to wider research activities within the department.
  • Participate in educational activities related to echocardiography and ultrasound.

Qualifications

  • ST4 equivalent training or completion of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
  • Experience in echocardiography (and renal ultrasound preferred).
  • Background in research training or experience in research methodology.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to present scientific findings at meetings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Advanced training in research methodology, echocardiography, renal ultrasound, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in advanced cardiothoracic critical care medicine.
