The Community Children\’s Therapies team provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy for children and young people up to the age of 19 in Tower Hamlets. Most of the children and young people we work with have developmental difficulties which often are linked to a medical diagnosis e.g. cerebral palsy or autism.
Our services are delivered in clinics, mainstream and special schools, nursery settings, children and family centres and homes.
The role of the post holder is to provide a highly specialist and evidence-based Occupational Therapy Service to a specialist caseload of children with complex health and physical needs attending a designated special school as well as mainstream schools. To assist in the provision of day to day management of junior therapists and Therapy Assistants. To educate and train occupational therapy colleagues, other healthcare professionals, educational staff and undergraduate students regarding this case mix. To provide clinical leadership and expertise to the team in risk assessments and take the lead for managing risk. To undertake service developments, leading on key areas with the support of the Clinical lead therapist
The post holder will have access to regular support and clinical supervision.
