Participate in CT research developments within the trust, including clinical trials, primary research imaging studies, and clinical physics research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of research CT examinations across all body areas as required.
- Undertake clinical responsibilities for CT research examinations (including cannulation, drug administration, image reviews, referral to radiologists, and related tasks).
- Manage research operations: booking scans, maintaining tracking logs, ensuring governance and compliance, communicating with trial teams and sponsors, handling image transfers, and other research-related tasks.
- Lead the team: conduct appraisals, line-manage B6 radiographers and research coordinators, and advocate for research within the Trust.
- Ensure information governance and management: accurately record data, use PACS and EDGE, and stay familiar with ICT systems.
- Attend educational and professional development activities: uphold highest professional and technical standards, remain GCP compliant, and attend research training/workshops/courses, including CT professional development courses.
- Deliver operational support: safe manual handling of patients, liaise closely with research coordinators, sponsors and teams, negotiate and perform all CT-related research tasks.
- Serve as the primary contact for research CT queries and support the research CT delivery service within the Trust, performing examinations according to protocols and evaluating research workload.
Information & Compliance
All data will be recorded accurately in the Trust’s systems, using PACS, EDGE, and other ICT platforms. All research activities will comply with governance, safety, and ethical standards, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The user will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Check and any other relevant background checks upon appointment.
