We have an amazing opportunity for two experienced nurses to join our world‑leading team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The post holders will deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients with structural heart disease as well as patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent communication with patients, their families, colleagues, and other members of the internal and external multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the team coordinating MDTs for the structural team and the acute coronary care team, enacting the MDT plans.
  • Work collaboratively in consultant‑led clinics.
  • Be a member of the ward‑based Structural and ACS teams, reviewing patients pre and post intervention and providing support to nursing staff.
  • Be an active member of the valve multidisciplinary/ACS team meetings; advocating for patients.
  • Undertake regular teaching, training, and mentorship of the nursing team in the provision of care for structural heart disease patients and ACS.
  • Actively participate in and promote research and service improvement and development.
  • Provide dedicated support to the structural cardiology multi‑disciplinary teams (MDT) and ensure smooth operation and timely meetings.
  • Live‑type minutes at meetings, signed off by MDT Lead, ensuring all patients are discussed within agreed timescales and treatment plans are actioned post‑MDT meeting.
  • Use specialist knowledge of the patient pathway to proactively influence tracking records, expediting appointments/procedures as necessary and resolving issues that could delay treatment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified registered nurse with experience in structural heart disease and/or acute coronary syndrome.
