If you are an outstanding teacher of German, or determined to become one, we would very much like to hear from you. We welcome applicants from both secondary school or sixth form.
You will join a superb college staff, strongly committed to reflecting on its teaching techniques and sharing excellent resources. Working within the English and Languages team, you will be the sole teacher for the AQA A-level German course, although there is also a volunteer speaking assistant who works with students 1-2-1 each week.
The role typically involves teaching two German classes (one in each year group) and you would also be responsible for a weekly tutor group. The languages team has 6 staff members and offers courses in French, German and Spanish at A-level, as well as Japanese and Mandarin at lower levels. The team is known for its friendly, collaborative and supportive approach.
You will have a degree or equivalent in German and must have a commitment to active and innovative teaching and learning, both inside and outside the classroom. You will also have the desire to be part of a successful teaching team and a willingness to contribute to new initiatives within the department.
