About the role
Barton Jones Packaging are a well-established supplier and manufacturer of corrugated cartons, bespoke boxes and a large variety of packaging.
Based in Letchworth Garden City, we are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to work as part of a growing team.
- Receiving goods into the warehouse, completing paperwork and checking quantities and quality.
- Loading and dispatching goods, ensuring packaging and quality standards are met for safe delivery.
- Maintaining a safe working environment, following health & safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to process efficiency.
- Inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy, quality and damage, quarantining non-conforming items where necessary.
Requirements
- Forklift licence for pivot truck preferred but not essential.
- The job involves a fair amount of manual lifting and moving of stock, so candidates must be physically fit.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to use your own initiative and common sense.
- Strong computer skills, with an ability to pick up warehouse software easily.
- A flexible can-do approach and great work ethic is essential.
Package
- 8 hour day between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, dependent on workload with prior notice from your line manager (typical hours are Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00, Thursday 07:00-16:00)
- Pension (Nest)
- 20 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
