The Night Porter role is vital to our success, booking guests into the hostel, advising on our offering and services, assisting guests with enquiries and questions, managing the Beds and Bars booking system, ensuring an effective hand over to the day team and working with the management team on security and safety. This is a full-time night owl position for people who will be available to work from 12am - 7am.

Essential requirements- You must be eligible or have all necessary documentation in which to be legally employed in the country in which you are based.
- All documentation required by any Local/Regional/National certifying or governing bodies in which to operate legally within your unit’s country.
- Have an up to date/active bank account in your own name.
- Be able to converse fluently in English.
- Where live-in accommodation is not provided, have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable travelling distance of the hotel/bar.
- Booking guests into the hostel, advising on our offering and services.
- Assisting guests with enquiries and questions – everything from do you have a hairdryer? to when is breakfast serviced?
- Managing the Beds and Bars booking system, ensuring all office administration is accurate.
- Ensuring an effective hand over to the day team.
- Working with the management team on security and safety.
- Advising guests on London attractions.
- Previous experience in a customer-based role preferred but not essential.
- Customer focus: Be friendly, smiley, sociable and welcoming to our customers, to create a great atmosphere. Remain calm, patient, and polite if receiving customer feedback. Be efficient and organised. Be helpful and go out of your way to help our customers.
- Drive: Be confident and self-motivated. Demonstrate a passionate commitment to the business. Welcome and embrace change, with a positive attitude. Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment. Be able to prioritise duties.
- Personal integrity: Be honest and reliable. Be trustworthy and respectful. Attentive to personal hygiene and presentation. Maintain excellent timekeeping and attendance. Be always professional.
- Teamwork: Always be a good team player. Assist Bar team on last hours of service including close down and set up. Build and maintain good relationships with all team members. Work together with the team to ensure that the hostel/hotel is the best it can be. Be willing to take on jobs to balance the team workload. Be able to communicate well with people of all levels.
