As the Design Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the visual identity of Beds & Bars brands. You will lead the design department and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of design strategies across various projects. Your primary focus will be on driving creativity, maintaining brand consistency, and delivering visually stunning solutions - spanning brand assets, animation, and basic web and app design - that resonate with our multiple audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Development: Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to develop and maintain a consistent and compelling visual identity for Beds and Bars across all touchpoints and brands.
  • Creative Strategy: Develop and execute creative design strategies for marketing campaigns, promotions, and special events to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Visual Content Creation: Create visually stunning and cohesive materials, including but not limited to digital and print advertisements, brochures, website graphics, social media content, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Animation: Create and edit animated content - including motion graphics, GIFs and short-form video using design, photography and videography - for use across multiple channels.
  • Web & App Design: Design basic web pages, landing pages, and app graphics/UI elements that reflect brand guidelines, working closely with the development team to bring designs to life.
  • Asset Management: Manage and maintain Beds and Bars' central digital asset library, ensuring brand assets are organised, up to date, and easily accessible to teams across the business.
  • Brandgility Platform Management: Own and manage Brandgility, our digital asset management platform, including creating and maintaining a library of regular templates for use by teams across the business.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, communications, and web development teams to align design with marketing goals, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Project Management: Oversee the design process from concept to final execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with design trends, competitor branding, and industry best practices to continually enhance the visual appeal of Beds and Bars.

Experience

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in graphic design and branding, with a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design work.
  • Previous leadership or team management experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Animated content creation and editing experience.
  • Basic web and/or app design experience (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar).
  • Experience managing a digital asset management (DAM) platform - such as Brandgility, Bynder, or similar - including creating and maintaining templates.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and an understanding of its unique visual requirements is a plus.
