Barry’s is the Best Workout in the WorldTM. Founded in West Hollywood in 1998, it’s the original strength and cardio interval fitness experience that provides an immersive, high-intensity, one-hour workout that’s as effective as it is fun. Our fitness classes alternate between working out with weights and running on a treadmill. Each day focuses on a different muscle group in order to achieve real results and to prevent injuries. Our program is designed to tone muscle and maximize fat loss, while spiking the metabolism for up to 48 hours following the class.

OBJECTIVE:
The General Manager (GM) is the leader of their Barry’s studio, and is responsible for overall operations, client experience, people management and studio performance. The GM is accountable for all studio performance metrics, including conversion and retention, marketing deliverables and studio targets. A successful GM is passionate about Barry’s, loves to lead alongside a team and thrives in a fast-paced setting. This role is responsible for building a strong and engaged community, maintains best practice in both studio operations and people management, and demonstrates the Barry\’s core values at all times.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
CLIENT EXPERIENCE AND COMMUNITY MARKETING:
- Understand the brand vision and ensure this is lived and demonstrated in the studio at all times
- Oversee the Client Experience in your studio, ensuring all projects and processes are implemented effectively and all clients receive the Barry’s WOW
- Assist with client queries, maintaining the highest level of service at all times
- Partner with the Client Experience team to create a strong local community
- Partner with the marketing team to implement initiatives to build community and brand awareness; such as private classes, group bookings, sweatworkings local brand partnerships and studio and class events
- Partner with the marketing team to implement a client and corporate acquisition strategy for your studio with an emphasis on client acquisition and frequency
- Ensure all marketing campaigns are delivered effectively in studio and perform to targets
STUDIO OPERATIONS
- Oversee the day to day operations of your studio including Front Desk, Fuel Bar, Retail & Facilities
- Drive studio performance and work strategically to meeting all performance metrics, making informed suggestions to improve and adjust where necessary
- Oversee stock levels for all studio supplies, inclusive of Fuel Bar, Retail & the Red Room apparatus, ensuring demand is met and margins are maintained
- Oversee all studio schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and alignment with budgets
- Complete studio ‘walkarounds’and oversee weekly and monthly operational checks and report issues to the operations team
- Work with the operations team on quick execution of facilities initiatives and repairs
- Proactively check all areas of Health and Safety and ensure all records are up to date
- Maintain a working presence in studio, covering management desk shifts and showcase the best of brand skills
LEADERSHIP
- Deliver all company communications to the relevant employees within your studio effectively and efficiently
- Manage the recruitment, training and development process for Front of House and Facilities staff for your relevant studio
- Address employee relations concerns and escalate to the Head of Studio Operations if necessary
- Complete probation reviews, yearly appraisals and address all development needs of your team
- Recognise and develop talent within your team
- Work with leadership to create and maintain a unified culture and a high level of staff engagement
CULTURE
- Work to uphold Barry\’s community and culture standards, and live the company mission, vision, and values daily.
- Represent the Barry\’s brand within the region and the local fitness community.
● Lead your studio teams in participating in and enhancing the community within the region.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- At least 2 years experience within a similar management role
- Assertive and clear style of communication

FURTHER INFORMATION
- Your normal working hours are not variable; however, your working pattern will vary depending on the needs of the business. You will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week over Monday to Sunday between 5.30am and 11.30pm. You will be required to determine your working schedule and that of the Assistant General Manager each week to ensure that there is full studio coverage and a point of contact throughout studio operating hours.
- This role includes weekend work.
- You will be required to attend a weekly General Managers meeting in HQ
- You will be required to attend monthly financial meetings
- You may be required to work at marketing events outside of the studio when required
- Other duties may be assigned on an ad hoc basis
