We are looking for a time served Electrician that will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment and machinery is wired to a high standard, within expected timelines. Helping the team provide an Exceptional Customer Experience by achieving our Operational Excellence goals, driving continuous improvement, promoting good teamwork, and acting in line with the company’s policies and values.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1974, current legislation and BWIS company policies & procedures.
  • Assembly / wire control panel back plates, mount electrical field wiring components, cable management to Customer Specification & BW Packaging Standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic diagrams, bills of material and specifications.
  • Perform Earth, Rotation, I/O checks on control panel & machine wiring/ fault finding prior to handover to Controls Engineer.
  • Sign off worksheet, to confirm quality checks have been completed.
  • Assist with the electrical maintenance of our facility.
  • Offer guidance and support to electrical contractors when required.
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to apprentices and other members of the assembly team to increase their skills and knowledge base.
  • Support the integration of new product lines being adopted by BW Packaging.
  • Clean and organise all equipment and work areas, ensuring they are always free from hazards and customer ready.
  • Be available & have flexibility to work overtime on evenings and weekends if or when it is required.
  • Attend training courses to support your duties and development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years’ experience as an electrician, preferably in an Engineering background.
  • Education in a relevant engineering discipline, Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Apprenticeship.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel and Word.
  • A self-starter with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Drive and determination to succeed.

The successful applicant will join a Company which is part of a Global Organisation with a $2.4 Billion Turnover and BW Packaging in Doncaster will be part of an Industry Leader in the Manufacture of Packaging Equipment to Include Conveyance, Can Palletisers/De-palletisers & Robotics. You will join our Production Assembly Team that assembles, wires and tests High Speed Packaging Machinery for Blue Chip Companies Worldwide.
