We’re a British cruelty-free and vegan cosmetics company, specialising in on trend make-up and nail products. Based in North London, our brand was founded in 1982 and remains a well-loved, independent, and family-owned business to this day!
We are looking for an enthusiastic Social & Content Marketing Assistant with a passion for social media and all things beauty. This role offers an immersive and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, well-loved beauty brand. You’ll be supporting the Marketing Team across multiple areas, primarily focusing on creating engaging social content, assisting with branded assets, creative copywriting, and influencer partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Concept, create, and deliver captivating organic content to grow Barry M’s social channels with a focus on engaging Gen Z audiences. Collaborate with internal creatives, influencers, and external agencies to produce high quality, on-trend content that drives interaction, brand buzz, and community growth.
- Actively pitch creative ideas for social media content to the Marketing Team, highlighting trends and conversations, ensuring relevancy, innovation, and reactivity.
- Leverage social listening to spot opportunities for Barry M to engage with trends and respond to relevant cultural moments in real time.
- Monitor all social media platforms daily, ensuring timely response to comments and DMs.
- Establish a warm and vibrant Barry M social community, driving two-way conversation and user-participation to drive brand love and engagement, with a greater sense of belonging.
- Write compelling creative briefs and work closely with Design team to deliver inspiring social assets in support of product launches and best-sellers.
- Assist with influencer partnerships, from out-reach, writing strong content briefs and organising campaign go-live.
- Support with copywriting tasks, from product naming, descriptions and blog posts, adhering to the established brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Assist with the organisation of photoshoots, including collating inspiration, gathering samples, and ordering styling and props.
- Work with the Sales Team to respond to retailer social requests, ensuring content supplied is best in class and delivered on time.
- Upload all new product images to the content hub ahead of launches and respond to international content requests in a timely manner.
- Provide daily assistance to the Marketing and wider Communications Teams, to support with ad hoc tasks.
Skills & Experience
- Up to 1 years’ experience, ideally within the beauty or fashion industry (e.g. internships or placements).
- Social obsessed with a genuine passion for beauty, keeping up to date with emerging beauty & social trends and content creators.
- A naturally creative and engaging copywriter, confident in writing for social, digital and marketing collateral, while maintaining brand tone of voice across all channels.
- A self-starter bursting with creative and innovative ideas to drive the brand forward!
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail while being highly organised, innovative, and self-motivated, with an equal parts creative and strategic approach.
- A real team player, able to collaborate and align on brand vision and goals.
- A confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, proactive and willing to learn.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
