Role Overview
As a National Account Executive, you will be instrumental in driving national revenue and market share growth. You’ll build and nurture relationships with key retail partners (both in-store and online), oversee promotional activities, manage point-of-sale materials and product stands, and contribute to strategic business decisions through robust sales analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with national retail accounts.
- Act as the primary contact and ensure accounts are supported and aligned with targets.
- Sales Strategy & Planning
- Devise and execute sales strategies aligned with brand goals.
- Leverage consumer and market insight to capitalise on growth opportunities.
- Coordinate promotional plans with the sales and marketing teams.
- Point-of-Sale & Stand Management
- Ensure retail partners’ product stands are well-presented and updated regularly.
- Coordinate the delivery, installation, and replenishment of POS materials and product displays according to agreed schedules and retailer standards.
- Partner with retail operations teams to resolve any in-store merchandising or display issues promptly.
- Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Lead comprehensive sales performance analysis, using Excel as a key tool.
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to share results, insights, and next steps at cross-functional sales meetings.
- Ensure that data-driven decisions guide strategy and execution.
- Forecasting & Budgeting
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce accurate sales forecasts.
- Monitor promotional budgets and manage spend to optimise ROI.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing, product development, design, and supply chain teams.
- Provide feedback based on market trends and customer insights.
- Market Analysis
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends.
- Utilise data to recommend adjustments to strategies, products, and positioning.
- Performance Metrics
- Define and track KPIs to measure and evaluate sales strategy effectiveness.
- Present sales reports and market insights at regular meetings.
- Organisational Excellence
- Maintain meticulous records and systems to ensure tasks are organised and deadlines are met.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, keeping multiple initiatives on track.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in national account management within FMCG or beauty industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Charts.
- Strong sales analysis and reporting skills—comfortable turning data into insights and presentations.
- Experience managing POS materials, product displays, and stand merchandising in retail.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
- Experience with top grocers or major high-street retailers preferred.
