ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Hygiene Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and delivering the quality standards related to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard with a focus on sanitation, taking into account all requirements around food safety, allergen, customer, religious and sustainability standards in the plant. The role will also focus on driving the maintenance and improvements of BC standard for Sanitation & Waste.

SHIFT PATTERN: Friday – Monday, 10h shifts, 7am – 5pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the interface between the production, Health & Safety, HR, project engineering, maintenance and quality teams.
  • Manage and organise the team to fulfil the sanitation requirements.
  • Manage the health and safety of the team members and ensure adherence to all aspects of food safety.
  • Handle day-to-day people issues including sickness management, discipline and grievance matters.
  • Follow up corrective actions and verify effectiveness of implemented measures within the scope of sanitation.
  • Provide the supply of chemicals and cleaning tools necessary to operate in line with Quality & Food Safety Regulations.
  • Participate in internal audits related to HACCP, food safety, sustainability and quality management system.
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits, executing external audits to approve services in the focus area.
  • Ensure correct stock control and availability of necessary equipment.
  • Deliver training modules to ensure the cleaning department and CAYGO for Operational colleagues remain up to date with the latest legislative and practical technologies and solutions.
  • Implement and manage cleaning programs (procedures, work instructions) for production environment inclusive hygiene junctions and non-operations areas like offices.
  • Report any health and safety or food safety or environmental hazards found in the factory to the relevant managers.
  • Cover the manager's role during periods of absence and holiday.

ABOUT YOU

  • A competent Hygiene Operator with a sound understanding of GMP & Hygiene issues.
  • 3+ years of experience in Hygiene and Food Safety in an international food company.
  • High level platform licence for working at height.
  • Confined space capability or ability to be trained.
  • Ability to detect and solve problems effectively.
  • Food Safety for Manufacturing Level 2 qualification advantageous.
  • Operational knowledge of safe working practices and food safety requirements.
  • Awareness of HACCP requirements.
  • Understanding of COSHH – safe use, PPE requirements and correct Use & Application of chemicals.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder and team management skills.
  • Operational expertise with compliance focus.
  • Track record of coaching and empowering teams.
  • Results-driven with a continuous improvement attitude.
