About The Role
The Manufacturing Excellence Manager will be responsible for driving our change agenda, leading to full implementation of Barry Callebaut Operating System (BCOS) at site level in-line with the regional/site Master Plan. The role focuses on the development of the BCOS work processes capabilities to deliver Best In Class (BIC) results in line with BC ‘Go for ZERO’ vision. The role will guide and support site leaders, middle management, and core teams to implement the 7 pillars of BCOS work process to deliver expected site goals and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the revision, implementation and coaching to deploy pillar work processes
- Lead site process of target setting and deployment (hoshin planning)
- Guarantee all KPIs are reported in the system and on time
- Generate intelligence to support actions that continuously improve site performance across the balanced score card
- Guarantee RCA activities involving plant leads and designated area members for all KPIs to drive to target
- Coordinate daily routine activities (team board meetings hourly, daily etc.) and operational review meetings on a monthly basis
- Make visible to the entire supply chain the losses opportunities creating a map of losses and site productivity pipeline
- Be the representative of the sites’ program implementation for the local management team and broader BC organization
- Play a leading role on developing and deploying/adoption of MES and other site digital initiatives in line with I4.0 strategy
- Deploy regular self-assessment using the BCOS Health check tools – and build action plan to close gaps versus site Master Plan
- Promote internal and external benchmark exercises, looking for opportunities to improve local site performance
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and environmental requirements are embedded
- Drive capabilities and ways of working to deliver typical site SQDCSM KPI’s
About You
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Food)
- Advanced level of English language proficiency
- Experience in project management and implementing Continuous Improvement process, such as: TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), IWS (Integrated Work Systems), WCM (World Class Manufacturing), Lean Supply Chain principles and tools and/or Six Sigma
- Proven leadership across Supply Chain functions, including manufacturing, engineering, procurement, quality, and continuous improvement
- Strong capability with digital and analytical tools, including Industry 4.0 systems (MES, connected worker platforms), Microsoft ecosystem, statistical software, and SAP
- Experience in working and leading initiatives in multicultural environment
- Previous experience of cultural change management processes is preferred
- Prioritizes the safety of people, processes, and products, with a strong commitment to operational excellence
- Exceptional communicator and coach with strong influencing skills, able to lead BCOS deployment without formal authority
- Demonstrates servant leadership, strategic thinking, and a data‑driven mindset, motivating teams and developing talent
- Results‑oriented, adaptable, and effective at navigating ambiguity while maintaining organizational agility
