Here at Barrow Hill Veterinary Centre, we are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. There will be various shift roles including clinics, dispensary, theatre, and inpatients.
The position is full time, fixed term (minimum of 6 months, up to one year) Monday-Friday with 1:4 Saturday shifts. The earliest start time would be 8am and the latest finish time 8pm and there may be some branch shifts to cover. There are no out of hours. Saturday shifts are worked on a rota and consist of alternating inpatient and consult shifts. We are open to working with you to secure the appropriate shift pattern for you and us.
Barrow Hill Veterinary Centre is a purpose-built building situated in the beautiful Garden of England, Ashford, Kent. We are close to Ashford international station and shopping outlet, 15 miles from the coast and euro tunnel for access to Europe and the beautiful city of Canterbury is only a 20-minute drive. We also have two branch practices in New Romney and Hythe and help provide cover for a sister practice in Ashford.
We have state of the art equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, orthopaedic equipment, k-laser unit, a CT scanner, and endoscopy. We have separate dog and cat wards and a separate isolation ward. The practice has a caring and supportive culture and there is plenty of opportunity to learn from both senior and visiting colleagues. We encourage the sharing of CPD and best practice and hold regular M&M meetings to ensure that we are delivering the best care for both our patients and clients. The welfare of our team is very important to us, and we constantly strive to ensure a good work-life balance and supportive working environment.
Currently our team consists of 9 Veterinary Surgeons supported by 12 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 1 Kennel Assistant, a Head Receptionist, 8 Receptionists, an Insurance Administrator, a bookings clerk and a Practice Director who manages the entire team. Three of our vets hold a CertAVP, and we have visiting specialists in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and cardiology.
