Barron Williams are delighted to be retained to deliver this key search and selection instruction for our client, an international leader in energy-efficient cooling and heating installations. The goal of the Group is to be a role model in sustainable climate solutions that deliver energy efficient cooling and heating systems. They offer a full service solution to their clients, from idea, planning, installation, and delivery to maintenance and service.

Entering the UK/Ire market in 2025, the group is growing rapidly through the strategic acquisition of relevant established businesses, already adding c€50m revenue to the Group’s c€550m revenues. With more acquisitions imminent, the UK/Ire business is looking to realise the benefits of operating as a Group, whilst retaining the USP’s of the individual acquired businesses.

To this end, a Group Head of Procurement is immediately required to lead and execute the project to review current procurement and purchasing practices and execute a plan to create new processes to allow the Group’s businesses to maximise value, both collectively and individually. The role will require travel across the UK & Ireland, working with Group businesses of varying sizes (and with varying levels of procurement structure & process currently).

You will be an experienced Procurement professional with a proven track record in relevant businesses, ideally technical product sales / service related. Credible and grounded, you will have a natural ability to quickly build good relationships with colleagues and suppliers alike. You will quickly review current practices, identify quick and readily available wins as well as implementing new systems & processes for the longer term. This is a fantastic project for a proven Procurement interim / contract specialist looking to make a significant contribution to the delivery of the Group’s strategic objectives.

  • Quickly review current procurement & purchasing processes and practices across the UK/Ire businesses
  • Recommend appropriate action plans to deliver short, medium and long term benefits
  • Build instant relationships with individual group businesses to maximise impact of improvements
  • Prioritising appropriately, identify potential Group purchasing savings with common suppliers
  • Recommend and implement appropriate systems & processes to maximise Group purchasing power
  • Embed new practices to build a group culture of cost saving, with appropriate benchmarks and measures

Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced Procurement interim / contract professional with a background in relevant B2B services
  • Demonstrable experience of leading procurement projects in businesses of varying sizes, inc. SME’s
  • Exemplary inter-personal skills, builds great relationships and understands relationship dynamics
  • Technical products distribution / sales background or similar ideal but not essential
  • Hands-on, as comfortable in small business settings as in leading hard negotiations with powerful suppliers
  • Personal characteristics would likely include expert, engaging, down-to-earth and focussed
