We are seeking an ambitious and technically-minded Quality Manager to take ownership of Quality Assurance across a rapidly growing engineering organisation working on innovative projects within the nuclear and highly regulated engineering sector. This role would ideally suit a hands‑on Quality Engineer who is ready to progress into management, influence the development of quality systems, and leave their mark by shaping a high‑performance quality culture.
As part of our close‑knit operations team, you will lead and develop our Quality Management System, support engineering & manufacturing teams, and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance across projects and supplier partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Take accountability for Quality Assurance across the business, including:
- Managing and developing company QMS in line with ISO standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & EN1090
- Communicating and interpreting industry quality compliance requirements
- Conducting internal audits and supporting external audit activity
- Maintaining Integrated Management System documentation and technical records
- Supporting manufacturing quality through inspections, NCR management and process checks
- Producing QA input for bids, tenders and project‑specific quality plans
- Leading continuous improvement and promoting a strong Quality culture across the workforce
This is a hands‑on role — you’ll be visible on the shop floor, speaking with engineers, supporting problem‑solving and ensuring we operate to the highest compliance standards.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years in a Quality role (engineer, inspector or QA coordinator) within engineering or manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001/45001 advantageous)
- Confident communicator with strong problem‑solving and documentation skills
- Able to work autonomously and drive Quality improvements with initiative and ownership
- Exposure to regulated sectors such as nuclear or defence
- Internal/lead auditor training
- Engineering or science‑based qualification e.g. HND, BEng
