We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Trainee Animal Technician to join a close-knit research facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long term career in animal technology within a regulated research environment.
You will support essential preclinical research programmes by assisting in the care and husbandry of animals, including rodents. Full training will be provided, with structured development toward industry-recognised qualifications.
The Role- Provide daily husbandry and welfare monitoring for rodent and aquatic species
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness within animal housing areas
- Prepare feeds, bedding and enrichment materials
- Monitor animal health and behaviour, escalating concerns appropriately
- Accurately complete records in line with regulatory and facility requirements
- Support senior technicians and research teams with routine procedures
- Work in accordance with Home Office regulations and internal compliance standards
