I am supporting a Medical AI company who are based in The Midlands and they are on a mission to revolutionise Digital Pathology with intelligent, scalable, and high-performance tools that empower clinicians and researchers. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop robust and secure authentication and authorization systems.
- Manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
- Architect and implement efficient RESTful APIs for a variety of frontend and external applications.
- Contribute to our CI/CD pipelines and DevOps infrastructure to ensure reliable deployments.
- Work with large-scale image data, particularly high-resolution pathology data, and optimize backend processes for performance and accuracy.
Experience
- Extensive experience in backend engineering with deep expertise in Python (especially FastAPI).
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.
- Solid understanding of identity management systems and best practices in API security.
- Strong grasp of REST API design and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in DevOps, including setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with large-scale image data workflows; experience in digital pathology is a major plus.
- A problem-solving mindset with strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
