We are excited to be recruiting for a Named Veterinary Surgeon on behalf of our client. Are you a skilled veterinary surgeon looking for your new rewarding opportunity? Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Named Veterinary Surgeon(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines
- Develop and maintain expertise in laboratory animal science and related disciplines through ongoing education and training
- Provide veterinary cover for animal units and clinical services at the facilities
- Support the implementation of new techniques, procedures, and technologies to enhance animal care and welfare
- Engage with stakeholders to promote a culture of care and professionalism within the company
- Provide advice and assistance to staff on the implementation of the three Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) principles
- Deputise for senior veterinary staff as needed and support staff training and development
- Comply with regulatory, quality, and health and safety procedures, including maintaining records and obtaining necessary accreditations
Job Requirements:
- Veterinary degree with professional registration with the RCVS
- Experience in general practice or laboratory animal care, including surgical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with research teams and provide training or guidance on animal welfare standards and procedures
- Proficiency in surgical procedures and anaesthesia
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to evolving challenges
