We are seeking a Medical Editor to ensure the accurate, compliant, and high-quality delivery of medical education materials. This role requires strong editorial expertise, compliance knowledge, and attention to detail to maintain industry standards across a variety of projects. As the editorial lead for assigned accounts, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior editorial staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Editorial & Compliance Management
    • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance in all medical education materials
    • Oversee the PromoMats/iMR/GCMA approval process for assigned accounts
    • Implement and advise on ABPI Code of Practice (or other relevant regulations)
    • Guide and support junior editorial team members on compliance best practices
  • Content & Quality Control
    • Proofread, edit, and fact-check a range of materials to maintain high-quality standards
    • Review junior team members' work, providing constructive feedback
    • Ensure materials align with project and brand strategy, suggesting improvements
    • Format and refine presentations, graphs, and animations in PowerPoint
  • Client & Project Support
    • Act as the editorial authority, liaising confidently with clients
    • Support compliance and approval workflows, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues
    • Assist in preparing estimates for new projects and ensure timely project delivery
    • Track budgets, timelines, and resource needs, raising concerns where necessary
    • Mentor Editorial Assistants and Associate Editors, providing day-to-day guidance
    • Contribute to the onboarding and training of new team members
    • Support internal collaboration by sharing knowledge and best practices
    • Coordinate with freelancers, ensuring efficient resource allocation

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong background in medical editing, preferably within a medical communications or healthcare setting
  • In-depth understanding of medical compliance processes and industry regulations (ABPI Code, PromoMats, iMR, GCMA)
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing compliance processes and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects
