We are partnering with an innovative biotechnology organisation to appoint a Director, In Vivo Pharmacology/Immunology. This is a senior scientific leadership opportunity based in London, offering the chance to play a pivotal role in advancing a portfolio of immunology‑focused drug discovery programmes.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across in vivo pharmacology activities, guiding programmes from target validation through to candidate selection. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the scientific direction of the organisation and support the progression of novel therapeutic candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies across immunology and inflammation programmes.
  • Define and implement translational pharmacology strategies to support programme advancement and decision‑making.
  • Drive biomarker development and PK/PD approaches to strengthen translational relevance.
  • Provide scientific oversight of external CROs and research collaborations.
  • Collaborate with discovery, translational, and development teams to achieve programme objectives.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide leadership to scientific team members.
  • Contribute to portfolio strategy and represent pharmacology within cross‑functional project teams.

Candidate Profile

  • PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Extensive experience leading in vivo pharmacology programmes within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO environments.
  • Deep scientific expertise in immunology, inflammation, autoimmune disease, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Proven track record of designing, executing, and interpreting complex in vivo efficacy studies.
  • Strong understanding of translational pharmacology, biomarker strategies, and PK/PD relationships.
  • Experience managing external CROs and scientific partnerships.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing high‑performing scientific teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
