We are seeking an Auxiliary Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations within a busy research environment. This is a hands-on operational role focused on maintaining high standards of hygiene, biosecurity compliance, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of facility services that support scientific research activity.
You will work as part of a structured team in a supervised environment, carrying out essential routine tasks that contribute directly to the safe and effective operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Operate cage washers, autoclaves, and associated equipment (training provided)
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare cages, bottles, and related equipment for reuse
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report faults or deviations promptly
- Maintain stock levels and support the movement and storage of consumables and materials
- Support logistics, including handling and transport of materials within the facility
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and biosecurity across all service areas
- Follow established SOPs, risk assessments, and waste disposal procedures at all times
- Work safely in environments involving animals, allergens, and biological materials
- Comfortable working in a structured, supervised environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following procedures
