Staff Scientific Program Manager
As Staff Scientific Program Manager you will lead and manage the R&D scientific programs to make significant impact in drug discovery by developing a Virtual Cell (aka Digital Twin of Cell), that predicts the optimal therapeutical strategy given observations between healthy and disease cell states.
This role functions as a critical bridge between high-level strategy and operational execution, working closely with the CTO to translate vision into deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Technical Leadership:
- Partner closely with the CTO to translate strategic vision into deliverables
- Lead and manage multiple scientific projects, ensuring alignment of the team and delivery timeline
- Execution & People Management:
- Oversee projects execution and participate as individual contributor to address blocking points and to develop prototypes.
- Manage interdisciplinary team collaboration, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
- Manage publications in journals and conferences
- Participate in hiring
- Communication & Reporting:
- Act as the primary liaison, providing regular updates to the CTO on program progress, challenges, and strategic implications.
- Participate to strategic meeting with the company executive team
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Computer Science, Systems Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field with a specialisation in deep learning and omics data analysis.
- +5 years track record of both successfully managing complex projects and making hands-on technical contributions on AI/ML applications in life sciences and drug discovery.
- Deep expertise in developing, deploying, and optimising large deep learning models (including generative, Bayesian, and causal models)for target identification, drug repurposing, and cell response prediction using multiple omics data.
- Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring cross-functional teams within innovative, fast-paced research environments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a visionary outlook on AI applications in drug discovery.
