Working as part of an experienced animal care team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day husbandry and welfare of mouse colonies, ensuring the highest standards of animal care are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the daily husbandry and care of mouse colonies.
  • Monitor animal health and welfare, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organised and compliant animal housing areas.
  • Perform routine cage changing, feeding, watering and environmental checks.
  • Accurately complete husbandry and facility records.
  • Support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness, biosecurity and animal welfare throughout the facility.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the animal unit.
  • Follow all company procedures and health and safety guidelines.

About You

  • Previous hands-on experience working with mice is essential.
  • Experience within an animal facility or animal technician environment is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant mouse handling experience from other settings will also be considered.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering excellent animal care and welfare.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures.
  • A reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
