Who are we looking for?
We have a brilliant opportunity available for an enthusiastic person to become our new Presser. First and foremost, we are looking for people who have the desire and commitment to be successful. Ideally, we are interested in people with a background in the textiles industry with a keen attention to detail to work in a busy press area however we will also consider trainee candidates with no experience.
The successful candidate will become a flexible member of the current press team. This is an opportunity to develop and grow your career as Barrie Knitwear prides ourselves on hiring the best talent. The work will initially be on a day shift basis but shift work may be required in the future.

What will you be doing in the role?
- Press, steam, and finish garments to meet our high-quality standards
- Operate and maintain pressing equipment efficiently and safely
- Handle a variety of high value cashmere garments with expertise and care
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines
- Interpret and check grading sheets depending on the type of garment you are working on
- Basic IT skills required as regular use of tablets
- Communicating with peer staff members and management to work effectively as a team
What will you bring to the role?
- Previous experience in a similar role or in the textiles industry is preferred but not essential as we can train people without any experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Can maintain good working relationship with internal staff
