Job purpose

We are seeking to recruit an additional PA/s to support the existing Team of staff. The hours will be adhoc to cover times of holidays /sickness. To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests. This role involves overnight support

About the employer

Our client is an 86-year-old gentleman who has dementia and lives in the WV4 postal code area of Wolverhampton and is looking to recruit a Self-Employed Personal Assistant (PA). Our client is supported by family as well. The PA will support our client to enable them to live their best life possible.

Main duties

Personal care

  • To support with all aspects of personal care e.g. washing, shaving, dressing etc
  • To support with taking to/from the bathroom
  • To support with assisting to and getting up out of bed
  • To administer as necessary medications – may need inhaler (ad hoc during the night /in morning) * Note family administer medication during day) *

Domestic duties

  • To provide drinks, and snack as required (Family provide main meals during day)
  • To prepare breakfast (Cereal and drinks)
  • To change /replace bed linen as necessary
  • To do laundry and ironing as required (minimal)
  • To ensure home is left clean and tidy at end of shift

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Hours of work

To work when required by the Employer.

Shifts are 8 pm – 8 am and predominately the shifts are from Thursday – Sunday. However, there may be the opportunity for other hours as /if the need occurs

Rate of pay

£18.88 per hour

Requirements

Successful applicants will require a DBS check & Employment References, insurance and be able to provide their UTR Number. This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
