Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10

Job purpose: To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the employer who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer: Our client is a 38-year-old male living in the Kidderminster area who is looking to recruit a Self-Employed Support Worker to provide support with daily living tasks.

Main duties:

  • Social duties: Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends. Walking the dog. Support to attend medical appointments. Do hobbies such as snooker, golf, swimming, badminton. Support to access the local community & social activities.
  • Domestic duties: Support with grocery shopping, meal planning/cooking sessions. Support with essential housework and housekeeping. Support with flat improvements.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

  • Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality and diversity.

Specific requirements:

  • Someone with previous care and support worker experience.
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable individuals with Asperger's, Learning Difficulties and Anxiety.

Hours of work: 6 hours per week

Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Car and appropriate insurance.
  • Previous experience.
  • Must like dogs and be dog friendly.
  • Able to guide and encourage with a positive & patient approach.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Good at building relationships.
  • Good communicator.
  • Good listener.
  • Ability to support people with complex support needs.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References. This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
