To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests. This role involves overnight support.

About the employer: We are looking to recruit 2 more personal assistants (full or part time) to join a team of 6 to 7 to care for a severely disabled daughter in her own home. Experience is not essential as training will be given. There are regular training and updates in house and when available out of house or online.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
  • Attend adult day groups.
  • Attend medical appointments if required.
  • Attend social activities such as swimming, cinema and bowling.
  • Personal care: Support with bathing/showering, teeth cleaning, dressing, administering medication, eating.
  • Domestic duties: Support with grocery shopping, cooking, serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry. These duties may vary from day to day.

Personality and qualifications sought:

  • Values: Kind, patient and empathetic, reliable and committed, calm and attentive, confident and outgoing, able to work as part of a small team, willing to learn specialist care techniques, respectful of privacy and dignity.
  • Specific requirements: Female, over 25 years old, full clean driving licence, previous experience not essential as training can be provided.

Other: Due to the nature of this role including personal care, the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Working hours: Full time / part-time.
