  • Support the employer to access the local community safely and independently.
  • Accompany the employer to appointments, shopping trips, leisure activities, and social outings.
  • Drive the employer using your own vehicle as required.
  • Assist with family outings and activities, including during school holidays.
  • Provide practical support to enable participation in everyday activities.
  • Support with tasks such as shopping and collecting prescriptions.
  • Carry out light household duties, including tidying, wiping surfaces, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and light vacuuming.
  • Promote and encourage the employer's independence while providing appropriate support.
  • Provide support in a calm, patient, and understanding manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of the employer and their family.
  • Be flexible and responsive to changing needs and circumstances.
  • Build and maintain a positive, professional working relationship based on trust, reliability, and good communication.

  • Experience supporting individuals to access community, leisure, and social activities.
  • Understanding of person-centred support.
  • Experience working within a family environment.
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in a variety of situations.
  • Knowledge of professional boundaries and safeguarding.
  • Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience promoting independence and supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals.
  • Basic understanding of the challenges that may affect an individual's ability to access services and community activities.

  • This is a smoking household.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
