Barretts have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join our Vehicle Preparation Centre, supporting our multi-brand operations across the Group. This is a key role within a high-volume environment, responsible for leading the mechanical operations of the site.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Workshop Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role within the Motor Trade
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle preparation, servicing, and mechanical processes
  • Experience working within a target-driven, high-volume environment
  • Evidence of improving workshop efficiency, productivity, and utilisation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and competing priorities
  • Ability to resolve operational challenges in a structured and effective manner
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop technicians
  • Calm under pressure with a focus on delivering consistent results

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and monitor key performance indicators across the mechanical workshop, addressing any areas of underperformance
  • Oversee all mechanical activity including Approved Used checks, servicing, MOT preparation, call-up work, new vehicle PDI and accessory fitment
  • Drive improvements in workshop efficiency, productivity, and labour utilisation
  • Plan and control workload to ensure effective throughput and reduced lead times
  • Review working patterns and resource allocation to align with demand
  • Identify and resolve workflow issues and operational bottlenecks
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth vehicle flow through the preparation process
  • Coach, support and develop the technician team to ensure they are performing to their full potential
  • Ensure company standards are followed in relation to workshop processes, health & safety, and use of resources

You would be required to work a 45 hour week, Monday to Friday. A competitive salary + bonus + company benefits.
