All about the role

Based at our Bradford site, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative/Loader Shunter. The purpose of this role is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards whilst adhering to all Health & Safety standards.

The hours for this role are:

Specific tasks include:

  • Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item
  • Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
  • Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
  • Operate machinery when trained to do so
  • Transferring steel stock to its location, loading vehicles using Forklift trucks and cranes.
  • Loading our fleet of vehicles, trailers and rigids.
  • Shunting vehicles around the yard.
  • Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
  • Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements

You will have the passion, drive, and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way; always ensuring a high level of customer service and the ability to build on existing business whilst successfully developing new.

Essential Skills for the role

  • Have experience as a warehouse operative, not necessarily gained in the steel industry
  • Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Ideally have operated Cranes, Fork-Lift, and Side-loaders, however training can be given
  • Used to working to high levels of Health & Safety
  • A full UK driving license to enable you to shunt vehicles around the yard.
