All About the Role
Based at our C Roberts Steel Services Site in Rotherham, we have vacancies for Profile Operatives on our rotating shift pattern, the hours as follows:
Days Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:00 Friday 06:00 to 12:30.
Nights Monday to Thursday 20:30 to 06:00 Friday 18:00 to 03:00
Afternoons Monday to Thursday 13:00 to 21:00 Friday 12:00 to 18:30
The purpose of these roles is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast‑paced environment. Specific tasks could include:
- Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item.
- Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
- Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
- Operate Profile lasers, plasmas and drill machinery.
- Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift trucks and cranes.
- Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
- Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
- Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

You will have the passion, drive, and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way.
Essential Skills for the role:
- The successful candidate will have experience with profiling machinery or similar CNC experience.
- Be logically and mechanically minded.
- Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
- Ideally have operated Cranes, Fork-Lift and Side-loader, however this is not essential.
- Health & Safety awareness
- The successful candidate will have experience with CNC Profile cutting Plasma/Gas/laser.
