All about the role
Based at our Bradford site, we are looking for experienced Machine/Saw Operatives on the rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm then Monday to Friday 2pm to 10 pm. The purpose of this role is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards whilst adhering to all Health & Safety standards.
Specific tasks include:
- Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item
- Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
- Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
- Operate saws and other machinery when trained to do so
- Transferring steel stock to its location using a Forklift trucks and cranes.
- Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
- Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times.
- Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements

Essential Skills for the role
- Have experience as a warehouse operative, not necessarily gained in the steel industry
- Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
- Ideally have operated Cranes, Fork-Lift, and Side-loaders, however training can be given
- Used to working to high levels of Health & Safety
- Ideally a full UK driving license to enable you to shunt vehicles around the yard.
