As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the smooth handling and processing of materials in a modern, state-of-the-art setting. You will need a full UK driving license as you will be shunting vehicles around the site.

Specific tasks include:

• Pick computer generated orders with handling/lifting of heavy and large items
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Operate Saws/CNC machines as and when necessary and after full training
• Transferring stock to its location using Forklift trucks and cranes
• Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times.
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
• You will need a full UK driving license as you will be shunting vehicles around the site.
• Any ad hoc duties required in the role.

Essential Skills for the role:

• The successful candidate will already have experience as a warehouse operative in a heavy industry or steel environment.
• You should be used to working safely, adhering to all strict health and safety procedures
• Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment
• Experience in loading hgv vehicles would be an advantage.
• Trained to use mobile equipment such as Side Loader / Fork Truck / OHC.
• Use of a bandsaw / circular saw and able to drive would be an advantage.
• Cover all areas of the business and move from department to department as required for cover.
• Being able to work on own initiative and part of a team.
• The ability to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out
• Keen for long-term career in the steel industry
• Open to any and all training necessary to ensure your skills continue to be fit for purpose
• You will need a full UK driving license as you will be shunting vehicles around the site.

Summary

Hourly rate starting at £15ph

Hours:

Monday to Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm
