We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician to join our arboricultural consultancy team. This role offers flexibility based on your experience level, with opportunities for skill development and career advancement. You will work alongside our GIS/drawing team using QFIELD, QGIS, and AutoCAD to process field data and create technical drawings that support our consulting services.

Job Details:
- Location: Office-based in Fordingbridge, Hampshire (SP6 1BD)
- Employment Type: Permanent, full or part-time
- Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday-Friday (flexible arrangements possible)
- Salary: Competitive, according to experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Process data captured by consultants in the field and provide remote technical support when needed
- Convert and manipulate files between AutoCAD and QGIS formats
- Prepare essential drawing materials including:
- 'Constraints and Opportunities' plans for client design teams
- Tree Protection Plans, Tree Survey Plans, and Canopy Cover Assessments for planning applications
- Tree Risk Management Plans to help clients meet legal obligations
- Treework specifications and supporting information for tree work applications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Recognized qualification in geography, earth sciences, computer science, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or desktop mapping/GIS (preferred, but training available)
- Familiarity with Office 365
- Interest in developing technical skills such as Python scripting and CSS styling
- Strong attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for learning and continuous improvement
- Collaborative mindset
- Ability to communicate complex data through high-quality graphics
