The predicted salary is between 60000 - 75000 £ per year.
Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships. While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.
Under the direction of the Group Construction and SHE Director, you will provide support to the construction improvement plan in improving build quality and efficiencies.
Key responsibilities- Work with operating Divisions and Group functions in the implementation of improvements to build quality and productivity in construction.
- Monitor and manage the delivery of initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and quality within the build process.
- Manage two-way communication with 'Change Leaders' within Divisions and obtain feedback on any planned or implemented initiatives.
- Assist with the development and implementation of a continuous improvement plan for Construction.
- Assist and support operating Divisions to consider appropriate solutions to build quality and customer care issues.
- Assist with a review of data to enable evaluation of KPIs within construction.
- In conjunction with the Group Technical team review and provide advice on the adaptation of modern methods of construction for the construction of our new homes.
- Liaise with the NHBC or other Building Control bodies as required to review build standards.
- Support the development of construction teams providing coaching and mentoring as required.
- Full appreciation of Health and Safety and Environmental requirements associated with the construction process.
- Experience in a management role in a construction company dealing with Quality, Health and Safety, Cost and Programme management.
- Good technical knowledge of Construction Management.
- Understanding of Building Regulations, relevant British Standards and NHBC standards affecting the construction of new homes.
- Good appreciation of the commercial factors which affect construction solutions and experience of considering these factors in the sector.
- Ability to provide learning/training to Group and Divisional teams on construction issues.
- Able to do some national travel but we can be flexible on an office base.
- Organised and well structured, so to competently manage people and resources to achieve the agreed outcomes.
- IT literate and able to utilise software to evaluate trends and key performance indicators.
- Good communication skills, particularly with suppliers and contractors with a strong understanding of the customer experience and public perception.
