Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.
While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business. Reporting to the Commercial Director (Group Commercial), you will focus on continuous system improvement with a brief to improve the efficiency, robustness, auditability and confidence in ALL commercial systems within Barratt Redrow.
Responsibilities- Working with the necessary stakeholders to identify and prioritise the requirements for software release cycles. This may be a mixture of improvements, periodic upgrades and system development (addressing process/efficiency gaps).
- Act as subject matter expert, being able to provide detailed system(s) support for Quantity Surveyors at all levels in the Divisional offices.
- Work collaboratively with the Commercial Director (Group Commercial) to manage day to day systems support escalating incidents requiring vendor support.
- Ensure compliance with Group IT systems.
- Promote and act in accordance with Group values, systems, policies and procedures.
- Has a proven track record in the proficient use of IT systems, specifically COINS.
- Has the ability to maintain system configuration requirements to ensure access levels within all user Groups provide the required business controls and segregation in order for users to complete their duties.
- Has experience in maintaining and controlling external project budgets, reporting periodically as required.
- Can manage system testing to ensuring robust test coverage and providing test support during release cycles/upgrades.
- Has experience working with 3rd party vendors (such as COINS etc.) to review and assess their product road map to determine what future development(s) might be useful/of interest to Barratt.
- Is articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Is methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards.
- Has strong communication skills and has the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Shows confidence in presenting information.
- Is able to manage and prioritise their own workload and time with minimal direction within the team environment.
- Is qualified to HND level or higher and have good technical knowledge of IT systems.
- Has a good knowledge and user ability of Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
- A full, clean Driver’s License is essential for this role as visits to divisional offices across the country will be required.
