What you\’ll be doing?
Within the Construction environment, think about buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety, and delivering excellent customer service. At any given time, you’ll find us working on some 400 developments across both towns and rural areas in the UK. Each site poses unique challenges – from brownfield redevelopment to adapting existing buildings such as old factories or disused hospitals.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will assist in managing the development of the site through to completion, ensuring that Programme, Quality and Cost targets are achieved in accordance with the build programme. You will effectively manage the Site team and subcontractors.
You will be expected to:
- Support the Site Manager in coordinating trades, direct labour and materials to meet the production programme
- Work in conjunction with the Sales Team, ensure that regular Sales/Build meetings are attended, all procedures are adhered to, and inspections of all show homes are carried out
- Accept responsibility for duties and responsibilities as determined by the Site Manager; deputise for the Site Manager when required
- Ensure the on‑site Construction team is fully resourced, well‑directed and supported in communication, training, development and workload organisation
- Deliver excellent customer service to customers in line with company guidelines
What You’ll Need
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
- Experience of working within established build programmes
- Assertiveness to ensure delivery of targets by the on‑site team, trades and labour
- Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Builders and/or NVQ level in Construction Management, or a time‑served tradesman with considerable experience of the full range of construction trades
- In‑depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and relevant legislative requirements (Health and Safety, NHBC requirements, Building Regulations)
- Good knowledge, understanding and experience of dealing with all issues relating to Customer Service
