Within the Construction environment, think about buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety and customer service. At any given time, you’ll find us working on some circa 400 developments in both towns and rural areas across the UK, and every one poses unique challenges. Some are from scratch on brownfield sites; others see us adapting existing buildings, like old factories or disused hospitals. We need people who can bring us fresh ideas and imagination on one hand, and the commercial ability to manage people, budgets and costs on the other.

Reporting to the Site Manager/Plumbing Manager and working among a wide range of Trades and Sub Contractors, you’ll make sure that materials are stored, protected and the site is safe and in good order. Helping us build Quality homes on time and to budget, you’ll be an important member of the team, so we’re looking for a hardworking, reliable, pro‑active individual who can get on with others – and who can also get on with the work without close supervision.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out all works on site as instructed by the Site Manager and in line with BDW Trade Specification, standards and procedures as per the good practice guide.
  • Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety on site and work in accordance with the Method and risk assessments.
  • Ensure working area is kept clean and tidy to prevent trip hazards and that all appropriate PPE is worn.
  • Maintaining clear and material free access to plots and escape routes.
  • Hot Work Permit Must Be Issued and half hour fire watch signed off.
  • Fire Extinguisher In Same Room When Using Blow Torch.
  • All Lead work & Rainwaters Are Installed to NHBC Standards.
  • All Gas installations as per the Gas Safe Register codes of practices.
  • First Fix Plumbing & Heating Installed Correctly, Identified and pressure tested.
  • Second Fix ensure that all materials are correct, undamaged and installed to be leak and defect free.
  • Commission the gas, heating, water and Appliances.
  • On completion all necessary paperwork filled out and put in plot file.
  • Carry out material management to ensure all kits have been delivered in full and undamaged.

Qualifications

  • Operative to be hard working, Reliable and Trustworthy.
  • Hold Gas Qualifications, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1.
  • Water Byelaws 2014.
  • Unvented Hot Water.
  • CSCS Card Holder.
