What you’ll be doing?
Our Finance teams don’t just process numbers; they collect vital information that informs decisions and drives our business. They are at the heart of our commerciality. As a front‑line, operational function where your work is highly valued and impacts visibly on our people and business, you will report to the Accountant and support the Finance team in ensuring monthly management accounts are completed to meet required deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assist and ensure accurate and timely payments and accounts are appropriately serviced
- Own & reconcile the bank account / cash book, including writing and banking cheques
- Maintain & reconcile petty cash
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Record salary inputs, expenses, mileage and commissions
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
- Prepare monthly / quarterly annual returns
- Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors tax and CITB payments as appropriate
- Assist in ad‑hoc projects, tasks and reports as and when required
