Salary: £504.76 - £588.14 salary per week (dependent on age, experience, and qualifications).

Reportable to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager and Central Office.

Role Purpose: Multi-Activity Instructors lead specialist activities Archery & Motorsports ensuring they are delivered safely, confidently and in line with Barracudas’ Activity Codes of Practice. They set up and maintain specialist equipment, provide clear safety briefings, and create fun, structured sessions that help children develop new skills. Through active supervision, positive behaviour management, and strong organisation, they create an inclusive environment where every child can participate safely, feel supported and enjoy their time at camp.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain specialist activity areas, ensuring equipment is safe, fit for purpose and prepared in line with Activity Codes of Practice.
  • Deliver high-quality specialist sessions (e.g., Archery, Motorsports), following Barracudas’ training, safety procedures, and session guidelines.
  • Provide clear safety briefings and demonstrations, ensuring children understand and follow all rules and instructions.
  • Maintain active supervision throughout all sessions, ensuring safe behaviour, correct equipment use and appropriate group control.
  • Complete daily and weekly safety checks, including equipment inspections, risk assessments, and session paperwork.
  • Encourage full participation, motivating children to try new activities and supporting them to develop confidence and new skills.
  • Work collaboratively with supporting staff, directing them appropriately to maintain safe ratios and smooth session delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain specialist equipment, reporting damage, replacing consumables, and ensuring safe storage.
  • Follow all safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures, reporting concerns immediately to the Senior Team or Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Support wider camp operations, including assisting with general activities, Skills Builder sessions and swimming when required.
  • Maintain a tidy, hazard-free activity space, ensuring equipment is packed away securely after each session.
  • Ensure the safe use of all equipment, modelling correct practice and reinforcing safety expectations.
  • Carry out additional duties as required, in line with the needs of the camp and the organisation’s objectives.

Requirements:

Essentials:

  • Completion of the 1-day Multi-Activity training course.
  • Confident delivering specialist activities (e.g., Archery, Motorsports) after training.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety and ability to follow Activity Codes of Practice.
  • Able to give clear safety briefings and manage groups safely.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and confident communicating with children and staff.

Desirables:

  • Experience delivering specialist activities (e.g., Archery, Motorsports, Fencing, Outdoor Adventure).
  • Experience working with children in activity-based settings (schools, clubs, camps).
  • Experience leading group sessions or supporting behaviour management.
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.

Employment in this role is subject to completing all pre-employment requirements, including being aged 18 or over by the start date, providing proof of eligibility to work in the UK, supplying satisfactory references, and holding or obtaining an Enhanced DBS check. All staff must complete mandatory training, including online modules, an in-person Induction Training Day and any additional role-specific briefings delivered by Central Office.

This role involves working with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including a check of the children's barred list.
