Early Years Manager – Summer – Farnham, Surrey Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday – Friday. (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 hours per week) Salary: £580.24 – £718.65 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size Note: Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. From 1st April 2024, new wage levels will apply. Reporting to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office Barracudas is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Early Years Manager Duties Support and deliver induction training; oversee set-up days before camp starts Complete paperwork and manage high-risk activities following Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage through planning Explore and Play sessions Designated Person (DP) for Safeguarding, handling child protection and safeguarding issues Communicate regularly with Area Managers and Central Office Observe children and participate in high-risk activities with staff Monitor staff understanding of safeguarding procedures Serve as the main contact for OFSTED inspections Communicate with parents, handle administration, and manage staff Maintain tidiness of site and baserooms, and ensure equipment is packed away Assess staff performance at end of season Support staff during sessions as needed Requirements Attend compulsory senior training events Hold relevant early years qualifications (e.g., CACHE L3, PGCE, BA Primary Education) Experience working in a childcare setting Legal eligibility to work in the UK Enhanced DBS check via Barracudas or existing on the Update Service Provide satisfactory references Attend and deliver induction training before camp opens Complete annual online training Coordinate camp pack-up Minimum of 50% of senior staff to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size Additional Responsibilities Follow health and safety procedures diligently Proactively address safety issues Prepare induction training materials Evaluate staff performance at contract end Report child protection concerns to Central Office Manage children with additional medical or dietary needs, assist with reasonable adjustments Administer medication following EI forms and documentation Bring swimwear daily for swimming sessions This is not an exhaustive list; additional duties may be assigned as needed Barracudas promotes equal opportunities.
